Solve the Jumble: CUISM - Answers

1. Coreopsis is a yellow (or some related shade) flower. Its wild form is often called tickseed. The botanist explained that the term coreopsis comes from the Greek koris, a bug, which the plant’s seeds resemble.

2. An urbane person (from Latin urbanus, of a city) is suave, sophisticated, cool. Her new friends were urbane, well read, and intelligent.

3. An ingot (from a Middle English term meaning something poured) is a molded bar or block of metal, cast in a standard shape for convenient storage or shipment. Are there lots of gold ingots in Fort Knox?

4. Brown-noser or toady (from Latin servire, to be a slave). The tyrant wanted no second opinions, but preferred servile flatterers and yes-men.
