As a part of the genetic testing, the OBGYN inserted a needle to draw a sample of the fluid surrounding the embryo. (It’s from Greek amnos—the sac in which the embryo is suspended—and kentein—to prick.) 4. A nephrologist (from Greek nephros, kidney) is a physician who specializes in care and treatment of kidneys. 5. A slender girl, or young woman. “My but you’ve lost weight; you look like a sylph.” (The word apparently comes from Latin silva, forest, and Greek nymphe, nymph.) |
